Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween! I'm quite late on the Halloween posting. I'll try to be better about updating the blog. We had a fun time this Halloween. For us the festivities began a week earlier. I took Katelyn on a Saturday afternoon to Safety Town. It is a miniature town that is so adorable. After a course on "trick-or-treating safety" the kids got to walk all around and get candy. Here are a few photos before we left.
With her loot after the adventure. Actually, that is only part of the loot. She got way too much to fit in her little bag. Much of it was in my diaper bag at that point. I guess I can't call it a diaper bag anymore since I carry extra underwear instead of diapers. I don't want to call it an underwear bag though.
3 of her favorite prizes from her Safety Town adventure.
1. Tattoos that stayed on WAY longer than I hoped they would.
2. Silly Bandz (Isn't that what those bracelets are called?)
3. McDonald's Penguin toy that shoots a little plastic arrow.
This video is just after we climbed in the car after Safety Town. I love how she says "trick-or-treat."
Halloween is also the birthday of Katelyn's cousin, Lilly. We got to go visit and celebrate for the weekend. Katelyn also got to trick-or-treat again in the downtown of the city I grew up in. Dad got to come this time too! Here are Katelyn and Dad ready for round #2. (Thanks for the pumpkin container Aunt Steph!)
Aidan the vampire (5 years old)...
Lilly (and Uncle Jim) the very chilly skeleton (just turned 2)...
and Lauren the sneaky skeleton (almost 4 years old).
You may be wondering why I call her the "sneaky" skeleton. Continue reading to find out.
Notice the 2 bags. The pumpkin container was her original container for this adventure; however, she received the Disney princess bag just before leaving. Two very nice aunts (thanks Erin and Elise) sent a bag for each kid. She really wanted to take both. No harm in that right? Well, about halfway through we heard her say to someone, "I have this bag too." We assured her she didn't need some for each and moved on. Our hopes that this was the first time that happened were broken when we realized both bags had plenty of candy in them. Oh Lauren!

*Note* She put the leaf in her bag while collecting candy.
