I'm three!
Katelyn got incredibly excited about singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" as a family tonight. She especially likes to sing it faster and faster. After about 38 times through the song it occurred to me that I might actually be able to get something on video for once. You see, as soon as the camera comes out she comes running over to see the picture/video. That means it's difficult to record her doing anything.
Luckily we got a very fast version of the song...kind of. She was watching the camera and trying to put on her camera smile throughout the musical production. When she came running to see herself I thought I'd try to get her to tell her name and age. She didn't fail to do what I wanted. What I was hoping for was for her to give her typical answer when someone asks how old she is. She used to tell people she was 10. Clearly she's not, so no one believed that one. However, she now tells people she is 3. She's actually 2 years and 4 months...but most people believe her when she says she is 3. Actually, people often assume she's older than she is. I'm pretty sure it is just because of her long hair. Already trying to grow up too soon!

Feelings and Emotions
Katelyn has been experimenting with expressing her feelings and emotions recently. Today she told me, "I'm kind of sleepy." It sounded so funny coming from such a small person.

Quick Utah Vacation
Although this is almost a month late, we were able to take a fun, very quick trip to Utah in March. We were pleasantly surprised that Jason was able to go, considering it was technically still busy season. We got to see and spend time with lots of family. It was a terrific few days. Here are a couple shots from the trip.
Katelyn LOVED getting to spend time with 2 of her cute cousins.
We got to tour the Bean Museum in Provo. We all enjoyed it, and Katelyn got a new favorite stuffed animal. (Thanks Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Merrill!)
Her stuffed moose (named Manny Moose) clearly needed to kiss the moose at the museum.
Meeting Cosmo was the high point of the trip for our nephew. Then we even saw the Cosmo-mobile!
The only downside to the trip was that Katelyn got sick at the end. This was her life for a couple days.
The night after we flew home she slept from 8 pm until 11:30 am. I was checking on her every few minutes that morning, because I was afraid she had stopped breathing or something to be sleeping in so late. After waking at 11:30 she hardly did anything and then fell back asleep at 1:30. Poor girl. Luckily she recovered very quickly after sleeping so much.

Playing Outside
It has been quite some time since I posted pictures. I have lots I could post, but I'll just put a couple on for now. Our family has been enjoying a lot of time outside recently. We started venturing to the park even though it was pretty chilly outside. Katelyn is becoming much more brave, but she is still the most cautious child I've seen on the playground. Luckily that means I've never had to use a band-aid on her (other than when she has had shots of course). Here we are still needing our winter gear.
Just 8 days later we were enjoying weather in the upper 70's. It was marvelous! Katelyn wanted to be outside riding her bike constantly.
We were also super lucky this month to have lots of family visit for a few days this month. Katelyn really enjoyed being outside with her cousins. They got to climb on tanks.
Katelyn and her cousin (Lilly) are only 6 weeks apart in age. They have become very good friends, and they are so adorable playing together. This was one of my favorites of the two of them from their recent escapades.

Last, but not least, we have some wonderful friends nearby. Katelyn loves their whole family. She was so happy one day to get to play with sidewalk chalk (one of her favorite activities) with two sweet girls (two of her favorite friends).

Fetal Echocardiogram. Good news!
We just returned from the fetal echocardiogram. This means they did a detailed ultrasound on the heart of our baby boy. His heart looks good. The foot they were possibly concerned about last time looked normal. Everything structurally looks great and normal other than the fluid and skin thickening that still remain on his neck.
The doctor recommended taking another look via ultrasound at 28-30 weeks to check things out again. It was wonderful to go and get great news.
Also, he was a perfect little boy. We were warned that it could take several hours to be able to see the images they needed. He was in a perfect position for the pictures and stayed there the whole time. It was the fastest ultrasound I've had so far. Such a good little boy!
