Growing up

She just keeps growing up.

Bear Outfit

Emily walked up to campus on Thursday to bring me lunch, and since it was 30-something degrees outside she bundled up little Kate in her thickest 3-6 month outfit we could find. My parents gave this to Katelyn for Christmas, and at the time we got it Katelyn was very small so we anticipated not getting to use it until later in the spring (or maybe even early fall) ... but she is growing into it already. She's such a little cutie. Thanks Grandpa & Grandma H.

We wake up very slowly

Katelyn enjoys the mornings (Mom and Dad have both taken their turns trying to act like we are having fun with her between 4 an 7 in the morning), but for most other naps, she doesn't enjoy waking up.

Katelyn Laughs

The video is not very good, because I had to try to use the camera myself while making her laugh. Katelyn now laughs! Sometimes it sounds more like a scared noise than laughter, but she's laughing...trust me.

Haircut Photo

Here Katelyn and I are after Jason cut my hair. I don't think the picture does the cut justice. He really did an amazing job.

Jason's New Talent

Recently I've been wanting to cut my hair, but I couldn't bring myself to spend so much money on it. I decided I'd buy scissors and try to cut it myself. I got the scissors and got all ready to cut it a couple nights ago when I realized I couldn't see the back at all and I really had no idea what I was doing. Jason agreed to cut the back for me despite his fears that he would ruin it. He ended up really doing the whole cut, and I'm so happy with it! I don't have any pictures of it yet. I'll try to take and post some soon, so you can marvel in his talents as well.

Best Sleeper

Katelyn really is a wonderful sleeper. I feel very blessed. Last night she ate at 9:30 then went to sleep right after. She didn't wake up until 8:00 this morning to eat again. It's not usually that long (10 1/2 hours!), but she usually goes for quite a while. Such a good girl!

Katelyn and the Mirror

We held Katelyn up to the mirror recently and found out that she likes to look at herself. Just today we were able to get her talking to herself on camera.

Our Baby and her Crazy Hair

Katelyn has quite the head of hair, and no where is it more apparent than bath-time.

Katelyn's Blessing/Michigan Trip

We got to go on a trip to Michigan over the long weekend in February to visit family. Katelyn was blessed while we were there, so both of her Grandpa's could be in the circle without them having to travel out here. Katelyn also got to meet one grandpa, several great-grandpa's, 4 aunts, 3 uncles, cousins, and many other family members for the first time. The first picture is of our little family with Katelyn in her dress she was blessed in.

Here are we are with all 4 of Katelyn's cousins! 3 of her cousins live in Michigan, but James, (on the left) and his mom traveled all the way from Maryland. We were so glad they got to come. Aidan (second from the left) kept saying "I love Katelyn" while we were there. He would also come hold and kiss her hand.
Yes, I know I'm making an outrageously strange face. I was distressed because Katelyn had just dropped her pacifier, and she was in a mood where that was not a pleasant thing to have happen. Despite having about 8 pictures of us in this position on my camera this was the best overall.

James has grown up so much since we saw him last summer. Jason and I both had lots of fun playing with James. Jason read books with him for a while, and I was happy to get some pictures.
Then James decided it was more fun to play peek-a-boo with me and the camera than pay attention to the book. :)
I included these next pictures, because Lauren was so cute with the babies. When we first arrived she went straight into the family room. We found her in there and learned that she had gone to sit on the couch in anticipation of holding Katelyn.
When we had the two babies on a bed next to one another Lauren got so excited. She LOVES babies. She climbed up between them. In this next picture she was patting the tummies and saying "two babies" over and over.
Speaking of the two babies. Here is a size comparison picture. They are only about 5 weeks apart in age; however, the size difference is huge at this point. At the point that Katelyn was only between the 5th and 10th percentile for weight of babies her age, Lilly was in the 95th percentile for weight. :)
