Minnie and Mickey Mouse

Since Katelyn has been thrilled about being Minnie Mouse for Halloween I thought, "What would be more fitting than have Andrew as Mickey?" We finished their costumes yesterday by making the ears, and tonight was our first opportunity to use them.  We had a party and trunk-or-treat at church. Since the party was at 7:00pm I took pictures beforehand, since Andrew was going to fall asleep. It wasn't Andrew I should have been worried about...

Katelyn fell asleep in the car on the 7 minute drive there.  I tried to wake her up, but she is a deep sleeper.  She just slept on the gym floor while throngs of kids make all sorts of noise around her. At least I have pictures to prove to her in the morning that I took her.

Andrew, on the other hand, stayed awake the whole time. I put him down when we got home, after he'd been awake for almost 4 hours.

Also, people seem to think Andrew is much older than he is. I had 2 people ask me who's baby I was holding.  They claimed they couldn't believe this was my 2 month old, because he looks so much older than 2 months.  I guess that is understandable since the clothes I used for his costume are 12 month clothes (still a little big on him).  I think it's just that his costume is so spectacular they had no idea who he was. :)

Collecting Sticks

Kids like to collect sticks when playing outside.  Katelyn is no exception. During a walk home from the park yesterday (we got to enjoy some wonderful weather as a family) Katelyn decided to take this stick home with us.  I think we're getting a little extreme.  Sometimes I let her bring a stick inside or keep it in the garage.  This one stayed outside. I love my Katelyn. :)

The World

During breakfast each morning we have a little devotional/uplifting thought. Today I was talking with Katelyn about being in the world, but not of the world (see John 17:11, 14-15). After I talked a little bit about what that means Katelyn said, "You and me can go to Disney World!"

Not quite the idea I was trying to get across. :) Obviously she is my daughter.

We Love Vegetables

Tonight Katelyn chose frozen peas and corn for dinner.  (We really like eating them frozen.) As I was getting the rest of the dinner prepared Kate was setting the table, and she wondered if she could put the peas and corn on our plates.  I let her.  This was what I found a few minutes later.  I love her...and she loves corn.

Clearly we had to get another plate to fit the rest of her dinner. :)
