Since Katelyn turned 6 months old today she decided she can finally start sitting. We think she has been able to for a while, but we've been trying to teach her that it's okay to do so! She always wants to stand instead and will try as hard as she can to keep from bending at the waist. Jason discovered that she only needed a little encouragement. He spread her blocks in front of her and she immediately sat and played with them.
However, when she gets excited about something she pushes off her legs and falls backwards (as seen below). This is why we have her sit on the bed.

Once she falls she arches her back A LOT. I couldn't get a picture of her at the peak of her arching, but here is a slight arch. She just can't figure out how to get back to the sitting position quite yet. We've tried to tell her that arching her back will have the opposite effect, but she just keeps trying.

I can't believe my little girl is getting so big so quickly!

She's so cute! Have you tried using the bobby pillow? Then maybe you could put her on the floor. What a cutie, they do grow up too fast though, can harly believe she's 6 months already. Meant to comment on your FB status the other day but got distracted.
